Printmaking II

This print was from my freshman year printmaking class. The assignment was to create an image telling how we felt about 9/11. The image you see is an angle wearing an ammo belt and below her is the city of New York during the attack.
The image represents how Americans cope with 9/11, some cope with their faith and others with violence. I felt it appropriate to call it "Faith vs. Violence" I originally drew the angle with her bare bottom showing, but my teacher made me cover it up sue to public school policy.

Printmakeing

These are prints I did my freshman year in high school. They are both done in black ink on white paper except the second print I colored in with Prismacolor colored pencils. I call it "The Tree of Life" The Earth represents a seed and the tree represents the life growing from it. I used planet Earth because its the only planet with life in our Solar System.

Aphrodite

This is a drawing of Aphrodite the Greek Goddess of love, beauty and sexual relationships. At the bottom of the page you can see I wrote her name in Greek letters with the end of a burnt match. You can also see Zeus written above it to the left. The page is from my old deconstruction book, an old copy of "Come On Seabiscut!" I like to experiment with textures and colors in my collages. You can see I used blue and gold glitter as well as ink pens, gold shoe polish and watercolor. I used blue and gold colored foils from the Five Gum wrappers to make the Greek Key pattern.
