Robert Rauschenberg

This piece was originally four separate pieces. Our class was assigned to create four postcards each 4" x 6". The pieces were to be exhibited and auctioned off while the proceeds went to Haiti. I however failed to enter my cards on the right day for the exhibit.

It turns out the exhibit was not what we were lead to believe. So meanwhile I decided to use my jewelry making skills to attach each piece with jump rings, an it made a successful Rauschenberg.

Self Portrait

This was one of my summer assignment for AP 2D. The assignment was to do a self-portrait in the style of an artist you liked, so I chose Andy Warhol.

First I took a photo of myself with my phone, actually has great quality, and worked on it in Photoshop. After cropping it the way I changed it to black and white, so no color and more shadow.

Then I changed the threshold level so it captured the shadows and the only thing showing were the lights and dark's. But I couldn't show all the detail I wanted to on the first change. So I duplicated a bunch of layers and worked one at a time. Each one a different threshold level and then changing the blacks to greys on others. so what you see that is grey in my face was a different level on the computer, and the black on each feature were different levels. I later added all the levels together and added bright colors to the sponge curlers in my hair. This baby went through an emergency delivery as a sequel of one of my many failed concentration studies.
